Denouncing JK Rowling's Transphobia

by Jessica Stevenson 23 Apr 2023

Dear customers and fellow Harry Potter fans,

I am writing this blog post today to denounce JK Rowling's transphobia and to announce that I will no longer be making Harry Potter themed products. As someone who identifies as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I cannot in good conscience support JKR's harmful views, even though she is not personally profiting from my products.

I know that many of you share my love for the wizarding world that JKR created. It is a world of magic, friendship, and heroism that has captivated us for years. However, we cannot let our love for the fictional world blind us to the real-world issues that affect real people. Transphobia is a serious matter, and we must stand up against it, even if it means giving up something we cherish.

This decision is about taking a stand and sending a message that we will not tolerate hate speech and discrimination in any form. It is about showing our support for the trans community and making our voices heard.

I understand that some of you may be disappointed that I will no longer be making Harry Potter themed products. I will be discounting all current Harry Potter products and will not be remaking them again. This is my way of saying goodbye to a beloved franchise. Instead, I will be focusing on creating products that are more inclusive and representative of all our customers.

In conclusion, I want to thank you for your support and understanding. I hope that this post has helped you see where I am coming from and why this is such an important issue to me and my friends. We urge our customers and fellow members of the geek community to stand with us in this fight against discrimination. We need to work together to create a world that is more inclusive and accepting of all people, regardless of their gender identity or any other factor.

Sincerely,

Jessica
